Does anyone have any sugestions on how i can stop grinding my teeth? I only do it while i am sleeping. Has anyone tried those mouth gaurds that you wear at night? And if so did they help?
Teeth grinding?
I have heard that they work. They are quite expensive at the dentist office, but they make some that are quite comfortable, called splints. You can buy the sports guards in the store for cheap that you soak in hot water and bite on to shape them to your mouth. Try that, and if it works for you, go to the dentist and get one made. They have a couple different kinds, and they cost different amounts. It is important to stop grinding, though, because over time, you can wear your teeth down to nubs.
Reply:I have had my night guard for about 10 years and it has made a huge difference. I am about to get a new one at the end of this week from my dentist because my old one is worn out. It was well worth the money.
Reply:Please consult a dentist. You need a bruxism appliance, better known as a nightguard. Molds will be made of your mouth and a dental lab with frabricate an appliance for you. They work very well. Goodluck!
Reply:I use a mouth piece , like a football player uses . It takes time to get use to , but it works .
Reply:I answered a question like this yesterday, this is what i wrote,
%26quot; I do the same thing - my dentist thinks it%26#039;s from stress. I also do it during the day and don%26#039;t realize it right away. My doctor made a NITI for me it%26#039;s a night time gaurd that snaps on your front two teeth. It took a little while for me to get used to, but at least now I don%26#039;t wake up with my teeth hurting or a headache from my mouth being clenched so tight. I would highly recommend asking your dentist about it. I don%26#039;t have the greatest dental insurance, but even with the one I have it didn%26#039;t cost very much at all, it%26#039;s definetly worth it even if you don%26#039;t have insurance. %26quot;
