Teeth Grinding?

Does anone have any tips on how to get a 1 yr old to stop grininding her teeth?? My 2 yr old did it a little, but not for very long, then she just stopped.

Teeth Grinding?
It will probably just pass in time, but teeth grinding is usually caused by a magnesium deficiency. Try offering her foods high in magnesium. You can also give her Epsom salt baths to see if it improves. Start out using 1/4 of a cup and move your way up to a full cup.
Reply:My son%26#039;s dentist said not to worry about it until the age of 9. He will eventually stop doing it.
Reply:she%26#039;ll quit when her teeth stop bothering her i have a 1 yr old and she does that all the time too and thats what her doctor said
Reply:My 19 month old does that too!! Makes your hair stand up on end, doesn%26#039;t it??

My doctor said not to worry, and not to make a fuss. She is just discovering her teeth, and having a feel. It will stop, once she has all her teeth at the latest. Often teething pain can start, or escalate, the grinding. If it keeps going for some time, distract her by offering her something to eat (fruit) or drink, or even just by singing or playing together.
Reply:My little guy does it too. The top tooth is just now in enough to grind and it gives me the chills. I think they do it because it%26#039;s a new sensation. Other kids I%26#039;ve known outgrew it quite quickly. I don%26#039;t know how much you can do to stop it, but trying offering teething toys.
Reply:My 15 month daughter did this up until a week ago; it was awful! My mom and grandmother said it was probably teething, which I think was right because she got a new molar last week. As a relief, for both of us, I would give her th very small cuddly lamb that she sleeps with, and she would clamp down on the nose just the way she was grinding. We can%26#039;t give her teething rings because she can bite through them with her front teeth.
Reply:There is nothing you can do to stop it because it is an involuntary act that is done unconsciously. Also, they do not always just grow out of it or stop at a certain age, actually most of the time it follows them into adulthood. I did it as a baby and still do it today, my father did it as a baby and still does it today, my daughter did it as a baby and is 3 years old and still does it.
