Teeth grinding?

my son just cut his two top teeth and is now grinding them with his bottom. it sounds horrible. my question to you guys is will he stop doing this or is it going to be an everyday thing?

My daughter started doing this today and she has had 6 teeth (2 bottom and 4 top) for awhile now, so I don%26#039;t think it has a lot do with adjusting to it. I hate the noise and it worries me, but for the baby there is very little impact. It will not harm the adult teeth or the baby ones for that matter. This is actually a common affliction in children 1-5, and it goes away on its own. It will probably be everyday or very frequent until then. My almost 5 year still does it, but my oldest never has. Just depends on the child I guess. Oh and it also doesn%26#039;t mean that the child will be predisposed to teeth grinding when they are adults. If it continues for a prolonged time, or seems to be bothering your baby, speak to a pediatric dentist. I hope this helped.

Reply:He will stop. He%26#039;s just not used to them being there. My 11 month old daughter just cut her top two teeth and is doing the same thing. Ugh, it%26#039;s like nails on a chalk board! Good luck to you and your son!
Reply:Both of my kids started grinding their teeth as they came in. It drove me crazy, but they both stopped within a couple weeks. I think they just had to get used to them.
Reply:I can only say his very tense during his sleep. his mind isn%26#039;t at rest. try play some light music for relaxation ( for improvement in sleep )during his sleep.
Reply:Yes, he will stop doing it, just ignore it, it%26#039;s just a phase. My son did the same thing for about a week and then he forgot about it. It%26#039;s a brand new sound!!!!

my daughter is doing the same thing, it%26#039;s new to her, and once she%26#039;s done with it she%26#039;ll stop. it%26#039;s normally like that for a lot of children.





i wonder if i did that too when i was little, the sound is horrible ... it sounds like her teeth are going to come out of her mouth :p haha
